From defending the far-right to helping gut his company’s social pledges, Ohio’s Keith Dailey cannot be trusted.
See the evidence of Keith’s shady behavoir below.
This is former Trump official Elaine Chao…and her husband, the infamous Mitch McConell.
Depsite Keith’s previous career in Democratic politics, when progressives pressed Kroger (where he’s an executive) to remove Chao from its Board, Keith defended Chao’s “career of service to our country.” That so-called “service” includes using federal employees and taxpayer resources for personal and family-related tasks, trying to include family members in high-level Chinese government meetings during an official U.S. trip, and calling Trump “morally responsible” for January 6—then voting to acquit him. Chao was so bad that her own department’s inspector general referred her conduct to the Justice Department for investigation.
Worse yet, in a disservice to people of color everywhere, Keith used the fact that Chao is Asian to defend her Board seat at Kroger — as if that excuses her horrible past.

Keith also got into a public fight with civil rights icon Jesse Jackson.
When Reverend Jackson came to Ohio in 2018 to protest Kroger’s closure of multiple inner city stores (thereby creating food deserts for Black people), Keith Dailey — who makes hundreds of thousands a year — was quick to go on the news and defend Kroger’s decision.
Keith’s excuse? Profits, profits, profits.

Keith even tried to justify Kroger’s decision to cut insurance benefits for employees’ spouses.
When The Affordable Care Act was first being rolled out, Keith thought it was okay that Kroger cut benefits for employees’ spouses, basically saying that, hey, they can always just get on Obamacare.
This cold-hearted view may have made his employer more money, but it hurt working people.
